The Power of a Duvet Cover

We used to have a duvet cover, and it annoyed me to pieces. Besides the fact that it was so hot, the comforter would never end up in the middle of the duvet. So, I would have the comforter all bunched up on one side of the duvet and nothing on the other side. I got so tired of constantly trying to rearrange the comforter underneath. AND I was using the corner ties that are supposed to keep everything in place. My solution? No more duvet cover. We are going sans duvet and sticking with just the comforter. Sillily, I thought a white comforter was enough for our bed and that I would not pay the price decoratively or aesthetically. Boy was I wrong! And I didn’t realize it until today when I added a new duvet cover.

Before we had a gray duvet cover, but since our furniture is a rich dark color, I wanted to lighten up the room and opted for a white. To add an interesting element to the bed, I went for a texture rather than a vibrant color to mix things up. I love this parquet texture duvet cover from West Elm. It is exactly what the bedding needed to create a finished look. Pair it with this chunky knit bed throw for a little extra drama.

XOXO
